The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William "Shep" McHenry can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Growing Up Together

Shep and I became friends at the age of 5 when I lived in Rumson and he was in Old Farm Village. We were together all of the time before I moved to Fair Haven. We got together again in high school and shared many sports together. Best of all were our trips together through the years. His visits to Colgate, my trips to Rutgers and after graduation our road trip to Florida to see Linda Babes. When we were both in the Army, I visited him in Germany and we took a road trip to Austria and Italy. Needless to say, alcohol induced adventures were a constant on the trip, including walking down the crater at Mt. Vesuvius. We had a lot of great times over a 60 year period and I will always have a smile when I think back to our times together. Your Bulldog Buddy Jay
