Obituary for Lazaro Perez

Lazaro Perez, 65, of Neptune, passed away suddenly at home on Monday, November 20, 2017. He is survived by his son, John Perez, daughter in-law Angela, grandchildren Ava and Juliana, and brothers, George and Orlando. Lazaro was born in Cuba, and was sent to Spain at age 13, in order to avoid joining the Cuban military. He reunited with relatives in Brooklyn in 1970, and after a successful career in the hotel business, moved to Neptune. A talented baseball player, and chef, Lazaro was best known for his love of music and for his resounding voice. Lazaro was a respectful and gentle man that was friendly and caring to family, friends and neighbors. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will follow at 2 pm at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church in West Long Branch.
