Obituary for John P. Cowie Jr.

John P. Cowie, Jr., 62, passed away at home on May 11, 2017. He was born in Cleveland Ohio, grew up in Middletown but spent much of his life in Sea Bright and then Long Branch. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Anne Cowie.
He had a lifelong love of photography and had a truly wonderful eye. He wasn't in many of our family photos because he was the one usually taking them, and they are cherished all the more because of that.
John also loved dogs, especially Cocker Spaniels and often said he preferred dogs over a lot of people he knew. He didn't mind sharing his opinions either, which with along with all the books he read, usually meant an interesting conversation.
Hockey was another great passion he had, and it was passed down from our dad. And like Dad, he was a goalie, and a huge Montreal fan.
He has left behind his sisters Anne, Callie, Allie, Mimi, Katie and his long time best friend Kerry Dalton. He also leaves many nephews and nieces; Cannon, Annie, Jack, Griffin, Hillary, Ben, Maggie, Charlie, Patrick and Bridey.
He will be missed by many, including his wonderful friends and neighbors.
There will be a private family service. If you would like to make a donation in his name, please do so to your local ASPCA. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
