Obituary for Kuni A. Strange

Kuni A. Strange (nee Nuechterlein), died Saturday, April 15, 2017 peacefully at home. She was raised in Lansing and Okemos Michigan, graduated from Valparaiso University in Indiana, and has lived in Monmouth County since 1971. An avid artist who has worked in multiple media, she was a longtime member of the Guild of Creative Artists in Shrewsbury and the Plein Aire Painters of the Jersey Coast. An active member of the St Mary’s Parish in Deal, she particularly liked to combine her artistic and religious passions.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years John; children, Ann of Golden, CO, Daniel of Boston and Sarah Hamouda (Stephen) of Tucson, AZ and her grandson, Stephen Hamouda, Jr. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Paul (Ginny) of Ohio, Ted (Ana) of California, and Phil (Linda) of Alaska; sisters-in-law, Wanda Strange of Kentucky and Carol (Walter) Staudenbauer of Bavaria; and a nephew and 5 nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Wednesday at St Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Catholic Church, 146 Richmond Ave, Deal, NJ. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
