I Havn't Seen Bill in many, many years, but knew his parants

I know that your family does not know me, but please accept my heartfelt condolences. I believe I am a third cousin of Bill's on his father's side. I know that Bill didn't remember his father because he passed when Billy was so young.  My dad (Marty Schwartz) and Bill's dad were first cousins. Bill's grandmother on his father's side was a Schwartz (Minnie Schwartz Goetz) and a sister to my grandfather (Bill Schwartz.) .  I don't mean to cause confusion but that's how we are related.

I remember Billy when he was just a little kid. I remember how happy and delighted his parants were when Billy was born because he came a little later in their lives. I lived with my grandparants in Jackson (Bill and Beatrice Schwartz)  and Bill Sr. and Ray used to come and visit from Jersey City.  Bill's father always remembered family and often visited his uncle to share family stories (I know that Bill Sr lost his mom at a very young age.) My dad and Bill Sr. were very close when they were young--I have heard more like brothers than cousins.  My dad was devistated when Bill Sr. passed and talked about him often. I know that my Dad and other relatives would visit Billy and his mom in Jersey City when Bill was very young.  I remember going with him on several occasions.

I believe my Dad kept in touch when they moved to Red Bank but then, somewhere along the line, the connection between my family and Bill's was lost. My Dad passed on fairly young also and has been gone for many years. I truly regreat that our families didn't stay in touch and that I didn't know Bill when he got older. It sounds like he was a great guy and I was truly sorry to read about his passing in the paper. Bill would not have remembered me because he was so young when I knew him and I was somewhat older than him, but thinking of Bill has brought back so many memories of my earlier years.

I do not mean to burden you at this time with my long story and I am so sorry for your loss. I am sorry that somehow I did not reconnect with Bill. May God bless you. I am remembering you in prayer.
