Obituary for Vera J. Gallo

Vera J. Gallo, 88, of Oceanport, died Thursday, December 29, 2016.

Vera was born in New York City and grew up in Long Branch. She resided in West Long Branch for over 50 years before moving to Oceanport in 2014.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph in 2014; daughter, Mary Jo Gallo in 2012; parents, Gregory and Mary Giordano; brothers, Leon and Anthony Giordano and sister, Vivian Botti.

Surviving are her son, Joseph and his wife Nancy Gallo of West Long Branch; 3 grandchildren, Dominick Mazza and his wife Nicole of Ocean Township, Joseph Gallo and his wife Lindsey of Oceanport and Samantha Gallo of Tinton Falls; 3 great-grandson, Nicholas Joseph Mazza, Matthew Dominick Mazza and Joseph Agostino Gallo; sister-in-law, Ann Gallo; brother-in-law, Richard Gallo (Pat Locher) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 11:30 am until her funeral service at 1:30 pm Thursday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway in West Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Christ the King Parish, 380 Division Street, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
