Obituary for Andrea D Edmond

Andrea Delores Edmond, 74, of Neptune, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
She was born in Long Branch to Pernell Johnson and Dora Harvey Johnson. Andrea worked for many years with Monmouth Building Center in Shrewsbury. She was a member of the Women United for Christ and had a deep faith in God and family.

Andrea was predeceased by her beloved father, Pernell Johnson in 1971, her brothers, Pernell Elijah Johnson in 1969, Edward Johnson in 1994 and Ronald Johnson in 2012; great-granddaughter, Taliyah Younger in 2008; great-grandson, Zaden Edmond in 2014.

Surviving are her beloved mother, Dora Harvey Johnson McClendon of Tinton Falls; her loving children, Sheldon Edmond of Red Bank, Sherwin Edmond of Neptune, Cheryl Edmond Laine` of Oklahoma, Melanie Edmond Almeyda of Neptune, Dorian Edmond of Long Branch, Kim Edmond Hale of Long Branch, Dawn Edmond Louis of Asbury Park and Deron Edmond, Sr. of Howell; six loving siblings, Lessie Alston of Tinton Falls, Amelia Johnson Okpanachi of Neptune, Gardful Johnson “Hank” of Florida, Thomas Johnson of Newark, Timothy Johnson of Long Branch and Alexis Johnson of Barnegat; 29 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 2 adopted children, Karen Keeve Adams and Angela Holmes Reid.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 6-9 pm Friday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Additional visitation will be on Saturday from 10 am until her funeral service at 11 am at the West Grove United Methodist Church, 102 Walnut Street, Neptune. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Mt. Sion Faith Center, Box 8173, Red Bank, NJ 07701, please specify in support of Aslan Youth Ministries or Westside Christian Academy or the Valerie Fund for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders.
