Angela M. Vetere, 92, of Oakhurst, Ocean Township, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.

She was born on July 4, 1921 and raised in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Oakhurst in 1956.
She was a secretary to the superintendant and several principals at Ocean Township High School from 1964 until retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Friendship Club in Oakhurst and the Neptune Seniors Citizens in Neptune and the ladies auxiliary of the Italian American Club. She was also a communicant of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Peter F. Vetere in 1998 and her parents, Salvatore M. and Rose Borruso Carmeli.

Surviving are her children, Peter L. and his wife Cynthia A. Vetere of Spring City, PA and Rosemary and her husband William B. Gray, Jr., of Shark River Hills, Neptune; brother, Anthony P. and his wife Ruth Carmeli of Roxbury, NY; sister, Josephine and her husband Dominick Fanelli of White Plains, NY; sister-in-law, Marge Vetere of Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Peter A. Vetere, Elena M. (Kelly) Arnold and Julianne R. (Aaron) Roberts; 4 step-grandchildren, William B. (Angela) Gray III, J. Allen (Gina) Gray, Jennifer A. (Harry) Brown and Eileen (Keith) Ferrugia; 3 great-grandchildren, Gabriel P. and Eva B. Vetere and Colton B. Arnold and 7 step-great grandchildren, Erin, Brittany, Shannon, MaryKate and Douglas Gray, Jamie Anne Brown and Bailey Ferrugia. Angela is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 7 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:30 am Monday at St. Jerome Church, West Long Branch. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
