Obituary for Sylvia Marsico

Sylvia Anne (Oldham) Marsico, 71, of Elberon, Long Branch; New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
She lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg and then completed her Bachelor of Sciences degree at The University of Manitoba. She met and married Gerry and had two children before moving to Long Branch in 1983.
Sylvia was a lab technologist and blood bank supervisor at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ for 30 years before retiring in 2012. She volunteered her time and talent at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove; was a member and secretary of the Figli di Colombo Ladies Auxiliary and a communicant, lector, member of the hospitality committee and the Rosary Altar Society all at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in West End, Long Branch.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gennaro (Gerry) and her son, Anthony; her parents, Anthony and Giuseppina Oldham; and aunts, Ida, Sophia and Maria Louisa Cancherini.
Surviving is her daughter, Anne-Marr and her husband Colin Ramsay; grandchildren, Julianne, Anna, Emily and Evan; best friends, Loreta Cafolla and Giovanna Bertoncello; daughter-in-law Kathy Marsico; and sister, Angela Ferguson.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be offered at 12 noon Wednesday at St. Michael’s Church in West End, Long Branch. For condolences, please visitwww.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
