Ernest Seggio, 90, of Brick Township, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born in Staten Island. He was a Production Manager at Standard Products in Brooklyn before retiring. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, where he was injured when his ship hit a mine off the coast of France. He enjoyed woodworking, playing bocce and shuffleboard, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Anna Dattolo Seggio; son Frank and his wife Michele Seggio; daughter Nancy Begley and her husband William; 5 granddaughters – Kimberly & husband (deceased) Leonardo Coppola, Janine & husband Jeff Fong, Elizabeth & husband Alfonso Hayslip, Dana & husband Thomas Maier, and Angela & husband Matthew Welch; 8 great-grandchildren – Nico (11), Jessica (7), Benjamin (6), Jeffrey (5), Madeline (3), Caroline (3), Parker (9 mos), and Cole (9).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 am Thursday at St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church in Wayside. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River.
