Patricia G. Cernigliaro
Patricia Goy Cernigliaro, 80, of Ocean Township, formerly of Interlaken, passed away at Monmouth Medical Center on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. She was surrounded by her daughters Allison Cernigliaro, Interlaken, and Nicole Marie Cernigliaro, Oakhurst. Patricia was born in New Brunswick, NJ on December 14, 1937 to Anthony and Olga Goy. She resided in Piscataway, NJ. Her family moved to Edison in 1955. She graduated from Metuchen High School and from the New Brunswick Business College. She also attended Rutgers University. She married Michael J. Cernigliaro, Esq. on June 8, 1963. They purchased their first home in Oakhurst and later moved to Interlaken where they lived for more than 25 years. Pat was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Deal. She was active in the Wayside School PTA and the Ocean Township Intermediate School PTA. She co-chaired the Bi-Centennial Celebration for the Township of Ocean. She volunteered for many years at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was a former member of the Interlaken Garden Club. She moved back to Ocean following the death of her beloved husband, Michael, who predeceased her on January 27, 2011. Surviving are her caring daughters, Allison Cernigliaro and Nicole Cernigliaro and her husband David Collins. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Colleen Cumiskey Moore and her husband Dan of West Caldwell, Michael (Mick) Cumiskey of Montville and her devoted helper, Max Cernigliaro of Oakhurst. She is survived by her loving twin sisters, Carol Martin of Katonah, NY and Rosemary Genovese and her husband Louis of Somerset. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Friday at St. Mary’s Church in Deal. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Mercy Center, 1106 Main Street, Asbury Park, NJ, 07712 in her name.
