Obituary for Raymond Mancini

Raymond Mancini, 88, of West Long Branch, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Raymond was born in Red Bank and lived in West Long Branch raising his family since 1960. He was proud to serve as a sergeant in the Army from 1951 to1953. Raymond started his career 44 years ago in the meat packing industry. He began as a branch manager for Armour Meats first in New Brunswick and then in Paterson. He then ended his career as a National sales manager with Conagra Foods, retiring in 1995.
Raymond went on to enjoy his passions, you can see Ray taking his daily walks on the Long Branch boardwalk. Cheering Shore Regional High School sports team. Loyal New York Giants and Yankees fan. Worked in his later years as a supervisor at Monmouth Park. He was a member and former director of the Long Branch Old Guard, a member of the West Long Branch Leisure Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #335, and with great love ran bus trips to Atlantic City.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Jenny and Raymond Mancini and his sister, Maria Glazer
Raymond devoted his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Eleanor (Barbara), his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Louis Catanzaro, of Toms River; Daughter and son-in-law Nancy Mancini and Gary Johnson of Colts Neck; son, Raymond Mancini of West Long Branch; grandchildren, Lisa (James) SantaMaria, ToniAnn Catanzaro, Veronica and Victoria Mancini; Sisters, Lucille Juliano of East Hartford, CT, and Rita Mancini of Brick
Raymond was the President of the Holy Name Society from 1970 to 1972 and named Man of the Year. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Monday at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Holy Trinity Church, 380 Division Street, Long Branch, NJ 07740.
