Raymond J. Sorrentino, 65, of Sea Girt, died Friday, January 12, 2018.
Born in Long Branch, he lived most of his life in Oakhurst, Ocean Township before moving to Sea Girt 3 years ago.
He loved playing the guitar and was a guitar teacher for many years and enjoyed playing at many open music jams. Ray was a familiar face on the music scene at the Jersey Shore. He was one of the original musicians to play at Upstage in Asbury Park on a regular basis. He played in bands including The Lonely Teardrops and Lipman and the Lips. He was the Master Grill Chef for At Your Service Party Helpers for the past 10 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Theresa West Sorrentino.
Surviving are his partner, Joan Cramer; 2 sons, Joseph and Gabriel Sorrentino; 5 grandchildren; sister, Sandra Krug and her three children.
