Popie K. Pirovolos, 83, of Oceanport, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center. Born in Karpathos, Greece, she moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 1948. She graduated from Schenley High School and attended classes at Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh, PA. She married the love of her life, Nicholas, in 1960 and moved to Uniontown, PA to start a family before relocating to New Jersey in 1972. Popie, above all things, loved her family. She loved cooking her Greek specialties and was happiest when surrounded by her family. When she wasn’t in the kitchen you could find her watching old movies.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Pirovolos in 2005 and her parents, George Economou and Faye Vardoulis.
Surviving are her three children, Faye and her husband Rick Deet of Oceanport, Dean and his wife Nicole Pirovolos of Ocean Township and George Pirovolos and Melida Kraft of Tinton Falls, and her granddaughter and light of her life Kayla Nicole Deet.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-8pm Monday at Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Service 11am Tuesday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, burial will follow at St. George Cemetery, Neptune. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church Iconography Fund, 1033 West Park Avenue, Ocean Township, NJ 07712.
