Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Mrs. Yost's family and friends. Mrs. Yost was my English and homeroom teacher my senior year. She and I would often meet minutes before our class to buy our coffee at 7-11. Against rules, she would allow me to bring my coffee to class as she broke the rule as well. I sensed she took a liking to me as we had Philly roots. She shared great stories about her time in New Mexico. At that time it seemed like a world so far away from what I knew. She had deadly aim with her chalk on disruptive students. She pushed me. She made me think. She made me challenge myself. She called me "Twit" in a lovingly way. She expected better from me. She stood up for me when I had some trouble. She wrote a beautiful note in my yearbook. She made me laugh. I could go on and on. When I was taking a class on pedagogy at graduate school, the instructor asked us to reflect on our own educational experience and recall our favorite teacher. The instructor then asked us to recall what our favorite teachers did. By chance the instructor suddenly called on me to stand up in front of class and share my answer. I proudly stood up and shared my experiences with Mrs. Yost. It was at that moment I knew I was touched by one of the great ones. I now teach TESOL and Intercultural Communication at a university in Japan. Mrs. Yost has had a great influence not only on me as an individual but also as a teacher. All of my students get a touch of Mrs. Yost if they know it or not. Her legacy lives on. Thank you Mrs. Yost. You were the best!

Condolence: I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Yost as my 9th grade English teacher in 2001, just before she retired. She was a wonderful storyteller and she made us Freshman feel like adults because she gave us a syllabus of what was expected for the year. But above all, I learned how to express myself through poetry in her class. I am artistic, but Mrs. Yost opened up a whole new world of creativity to me and I will be forever grateful to her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She will be missed.

Condolence: I am so sorry and sad to hear of Mrs. Yost's passing. I never had her for a teacher, but through my friendship with Paul is how I knew her. What I remember most is the sound of her voice. It was comforting and had such warmth. She was kind and caring. May God bless her soul. My deepest sympathies to the entire family. May your memories of her comfort you at this difficult time.

Condolence: To the Yost family, I was lucky enough to have your mom/grandmother as my English teacher. What a sweet, passionate, loving, kind and funny person. Her stories and candy treats at test times are something easily remembered. May your special memories together comfort you now & always. With sympathy.

Condolence: It is so very difficult to find the right words to express how special Mary Beth was to our Shore family. Just read the heartfelt tributes from her students to begin to understand how influential she was. Mary Beth was a wonderful and caring teacher. She supported her students, but she also spoke truthfully and bluntly to them. She could tell a story like no other, especially about her beloved grandchildren. I always told her she should write a book about her family exploits. Mary Beth was funny, insightful, and truthful. I admired her honesty and her humor, especially in the face of the challenges she faced in life. What I remember most: she did not suffer fools; she loved coffee; her students were a priority; she adored her husband Paul; she always made me laugh and she loved to laugh; her stories about her siblings and her early years; her warm and beautiful smile. I loved working with Mary Beth, and I learned so much from her. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children, grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. Mary Beth lived a life worthy of honor and praise. I loved her and will never forget her.

Condolence: Sorry to hear about Mrs. Yost one of my favorite teachers from Shore Regional. I don't think there was one student that had her that didn't love her. Her genuine personality and the classes we spent talking about life how she went to school with "Wilt the Stilt". You will be missed and I feel blessed that had you as a teacher and mentor.

Condolence: Please accept my condolences at the loss of a true blessing in the world of education. Mrs. Yost taught my thee sons, demonstrating her excellent education skills, but perhaps more importantly her care and compassion for my children when they needed a special person in their lives. Condolence: I am so very sorry for your family's loss. I was very lucky to have Mrs. Yost as my English teacher in high school. She was such an extraordinary person-a great influence and role model who was a wonderful story teller, so comical yet at the same time she wore her heart on her sleeve. I remember Mrs. Yost telling us so many stories about you, her family, especially her children, and tearing up every time she talked about how much she loved you. She was such an honest and good person-she's one that you hope will just live forever because the world is definitely much emptier without her. This news brings many tears, but then I smile, because how could you not smile when you think about Mrs. Yost? I hope you will take comfort in the wonderful legacy she leaves behind, knowing how many lives she has touched in so many ways! To this day, I still think of her (and even use some of her funny lines!) and she remains at the top of my list of favorite people. The world would be a perfect place if everyone strived to be even a quarter of the amazing person that was Mary Beth Yost. Condolence: While I never had the pleasure of meeting MaryBeth, I work with her daughter Rita. Rita has shared so much about her wonderful parents that I feel I know them. My deepest sympathies to the entire family, especially my dear friend Rita. Thoughts and prayers go out to all.

Condolence: Mrs. Yost is one of the main reasons I became an English teacher. It was senior year, I brought nothing to read, and she tossed the book on my desk and said,"you'd better find something!" and I discovered poems. She was kind, fair, funny, and strong. She lives on in all the students' she affected for the better. My prayers are with your family at this time.
