Sheila H. Kolodjeski, 47, of Interlaken, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 23, 2017 after a prolonged battle with cancer in which she never surrendered her humor, optimism, cheerfulness, or her concern for others. Sheila grew up in Deal and was an alumna of St. Rose High School, Belmar, and the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station. She loved every aspect of living at the Shore, was a regular at Phillips Ave beach in Deal, and volunteered at the Center in Asbury Park. Sheila had a genuine passion for pet care and enjoyed educating and providing advice to those starting or maintaining a collection of fish. She was the epitome of a warm and caring soul and was immensely proud of her 23 years of sobriety.
She will be missed by all those whose days she brightened, especially her parents Stanley and Dolores of Interlaken, her brothers, Andrew (Laura) of Shrewsbury, Danny (Meredith) of Rumson and Craig (Erin) of Arlington, VA and her seven nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-6 pm Sunday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Monday at the Church of St. Anselm, 1028 Wayside Road, Wayside. A private burial will follow.
