Obituary for Steven M. Acerra

Steven Michael “The Weave” Acerra, 63, of Long Branch, NJ died Thursday, October 27, 2016.

He was born in Jacksonville, NC and lived in Long Branch, NJ and Flourtown, PA before moving back to Long Branch, NJ in 2006.
Steve was a graduate of Long Branch High School where he was a member of the basketball, baseball and golf teams. He was an avid sports fan. He graduated from Villanova University with a degree in finance. Steve was a licensed PGA professional. He was Head Golf Pro at Flourtown Country Club in Flourtown, PA from 1979-1992; assistant Golf Pro at the Hidden Springs Country Club in Horsham, PA from 1977-1979; at Bala Golf Club from 1976-1977 and at Willingboro Country Club in Willingboro, NJ from 1975-1976. After moving back to the shore, he was a caddy at Hollywood Golf Club in Ocean Township, NJ.

He was predeceased by parents, Salvatore “Sam” and Blanche Coyle Acerra; his sister, Linda White and his brothers-in-law, Glenn White and Sal Zagara.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary Acerra Zagara and Diane Acerra; his brother, James Acerra; and his nephews and nieces, Aaron and Rachel White, Craig White and Ryan and Valerie White and his great nieces and nephew, Noah, Eve, Abigail and Irene.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 4-7 pm Wednesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst, Ocean Township.
