Obituary for Michael A. Unger Sr.

Michael A. Unger, Sr., 69, of Interlaken, died Thursday, May 26, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Bergenfield and lived in Oceanport and Long Branch before moving to Interlaken 5 years ago.
He was an executive recruiter for the past 40 years. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of the Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood in Monmouth Beach and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed being an artist and drawing family portraits. He was an avid NY Giants and Yankees fan. He was a graduate of St. John’s University in New York.
He was predeceased by his parents; Michael and Cecelia Unger.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Linda; 3 children, Meghan Unger, Michael Unger, Jr. and his wife Alison and Matthew Unger; brother, Dennis Unger and his wife Donna and granddaughter, Genevieve.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Wednesday at Precious Blood Church in Monmouth Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 260 Wall Street, Eatontown, NJ 07724 or to the Church of the Precious Blood, 72 Riverdale Avenue, Monmouth Beach, NJ 07750.
