Obituary for Carmela Landa

Carmela Landa, 95, of West Long Branch, passed away in the early hours on Wednesday January 6, 20l6 peacefully in her sleep at her daughter’s residence in Manchester, where she lived since October 2015. Born in Ischia, Italy on November 28, 1920, Carmela came to America in 1932 through Ellis Island. She lived in Brooklyn NY, Newark NJ, Long Branch NJ and has been a resident of West Long Branch for the last 58 years. She was a seamstress in Long Branch for 30 years before retiring.
Surviving are her daughters, Diane Morley of Oceanport, Joni Crawford and her husband Vincent Festa of Manchester and Stephanie Bryant of Long Branch; her grandsons, John Crawford and Peter and Eric Morley; sister, Maria Johnson of West Long Branch, brothers, Nunzio Calise of Eatontown and Tom Calise and his wife Eleanor of the Villages, Florida along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Her services were private and Carmela was buried at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. Arrangements are by the Fiore Funeral Home, West Long Branch. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
