Nils Peter Nilsen, 63, of West Long Branch, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015. Born in Long Branch, he lived most of his life in Monmouth Beach before moving to West Long Branch in 2008. He was a graduate of Shore Regional High School and attended Houghton College, Houghton, NY. He was a longtime employee of Shrewsbury Motors in Tinton Falls. Known as "Pete" to family and friends, he was a kind, gentle soul who was constant in his prayers for others and their needs. 2 Corinthians 5:1-5.

He was predeceased by his father, John Howard Nilsen, in 1964 and his stepfather, A. Wesley Cornman, in 2009. Surviving are his mother, Marion Cornman, Fayetteville, NC; three sisters, Kathi (Gregory) Baxter, West Long Branch, Linda (Henry) Curry, Hope Mills, NC, and Gayle (Joe) Streeter, Morrisville, VT; two brothers, David (Janine) Nilsen, East Clarendon, VT, and Paul (Cindy) Cornman, Freehold, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 10:30 am until his funeral service at 11:30 am Saturday at Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch.
