Robert J. Olsen, 86, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. Born in the Bronx, NY, he resided in Oceanport, Newton, and most recently Eatontown.
Bob served in the 2nd Marine Division 1946-57. He was President of Keystone Savings, Elmora Savings and Ramsey Savings. He was a Councilman and Police Commissioner in Oceanport. He founded and sponsored the Jersey Shore Marathon.

He was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Agnes (Jensen) Olsen; brothers Christian and Raymond Olsen. Surviving are his children Brad (Erika Picca), Duanne Vowles, Rus (Lisa), and PJ (Sarah); 5 grandchildren, Chelsea Beddingfield (Jay), Bo Olsen (Kristin), Amanda, Emily, and Jillian Olsen; and great-grandson, Nick Olsen.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 7-9 pm Thursday, November 13 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Burial will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Chesterfield Arneytown Road, Wrightstown, NJ, at 11:00 am on Friday, November 14.
