Anna P. Emmons, 96, of Long Branch died peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2013 with her family by her side.

She was born in Long Branch and lived in Caivano, Italy before returning back to Long Anna was born January 7,1917 in Long Branch, NJ and as an infant moved to Caivano, Italy in the Province of Napoli with her family where she was raised. She returned to Long Branch in 1934 at the age of 17 where she lived on Jeffrey Street with many of her relatives.

She was a seamstress working at various clothing manufacturers before retiring from 5th Avenue Manufacturing in Long Branch. She was a member of the ILGWU.

Predeceased by her parents, Assunta Fiore and Giuseppe Laurenza, her husband, Thomas Emmons, siblings, Sabatino Laurenza, Maria Laurenza, Carmen Lorenzo, and George Lorenzo, and granddaughter Judith Kieber-Emmons. She is survived by her sister, Giuseppina Laurenza and her sons, Thomas Kieber-Emmons (Marie) of Little Rock, AR & Corpus Christi, TX and Jeffrey Emmons (Sharon) of Manchester, NJ. Anna is also survived by her grandchildren Christine Rodgers(Jeff), Matthew Kieber-Emmons (Autumn), Jeffrey Emmons(Lynne), Adam Emmons, Ann Marie Kieber-Emmons, Carol Ann Emmons, Alyse Kieber-Emmons, 5 great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

Anna was beloved by so many for her wit and indomitable spirit, but also for her food! She was an excellent cook, and spoiled her sons and grandchildren by always making them the specialties that she knew they loved. Anna was always a hostess, inviting the neighborhood in to share in the feasts. She loved music and was often found singing in Italian in her kitchen whipping up some cookies for the grandkids. She will be remembered for her love of family and her unfailing generosity
